WET SANS BROLLY EXPLORE EDIBLE SELF-DESTRUCTION ON CORNFED HUMANS

Wet Sans Brolly have released their first full-length album entitled Cornfed Humans. Inspired by “the inevitable mutation of the human species as they consume alarming amounts of genetically modified food”, the concept behind Cornfed Humans evolved throughout the writing and recording process to include a wide range of self-destructive scenarios. But despite the variety of dark themes examined on the album’s twelve tracks, the band tried to maintain an underlying current of positivity. “Much like life,” comments guitarist Pearl Owens, “the music changes from minute to minute – there are ups and downs.”

Wet Sans Brolly site a numerous and eclectic list of musical influences, from Mingus to Marley and Radiohead to Rachmaninoff, but their largest source of inspiration is actually film. “An artfully captured moment can be the catalyst for an entire song,” says Mister E. “Through the eyes of a skilled director, a single image can portray an extremely distinctive vibe, which often translates effortlessly to our medium.”

Cornfed Humans was written and recorded with producer Phil Woodring during the band’s six month stay in San Diego, CA in 2008. Shoe, the band’s drummer (and sole American in the group) has been close friends with Woodring since high school. “He asked us to come over and make a record, so we hopped on a boat,” says the drummer. “We actually lived at the studio. We had the whole place to ourselves, but we had to sleep on air mattresses in a storage room.”

The digital edition of Cornfed Humans is currently available at the band’s website, iTunes, and other digital retailers.

The Physical CD is available at the band’s website and Amazon.com
